Jennifer McAdoo, MS, CEIS, LMHC

Jennifer McAdoo is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and a certified early intervention specialist (CEIS), i.e developmental specialist, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in mental health counseling, as well as an advanced certificate in child, adolescent and family relations. She has specialized training in child development, play therapy, trauma and family work. Her experience includes working in various mental health settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential and home-based practices. She has 4 years of experience working with Early Intervention as a therapist and developmental specialist where she worked with children and families around various developmental and emotional needs. While working in this setting, she worked toward earning her CEIS. She began working in the outpatient mental health department at MassGeneral for Children in 2012, and remained there at various capacities until 2026. While there, she worked as a clinician, team coordinator and supervisor where she worked primarily with children and their families ages 6 and under around a variety of concerns and diagnoses. She also was part of the Parent Child Trauma Recovery Program, which is in collaboration with HAWC for approximately 10 years. In addition, she has experience working with children and adults of all ages around a variety of areas including but not limited to trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, selective mutism, autism spectrum disorder, reactive attachment, adjustments through life and environmental changes, behavioral concerns and eating disorders. Jennifer is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Mental Health Counselors, a published children’s book author and a licensed foster parent.
