DANDELION CHILD AND FAMILY COUNSELING, LLC
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

HOME BASED THERAPY
Home-based therapy takes place at the home of a person receiving therapy, rather than in an office. Home based counseling is typically provided at the kitchen table, a home office, family room or in a living room. A benefit to having therapy in your own environment is that the client may feel more comfortable. The ability to see a home environment and observe how people use their space can help therapists build good connections quickly. As a result, effective treatment can progress, and healing may happen more easily.

PSYCHO EDUCATIONAL
PARENTING CONSULTS
One of the services that I offer is psycho educational parenting consults. This service is for families whom have concerns around their child's symptoms or behaviors, but feel they would like to try to address their concerns at home without formal therapy. Parents would meet with therapist virtually to discuss concerns and will be provided guidance around strategies, different ways of communicating and psycho education. This service can be scheduled as needed and is not meant to be long term.

OFFICE VISIT
This service is provided for those families who prefer to be seen in person, in a formal therapeutic space. This option is ideal for families seeking later appointment times as well as those interested in having services conducted outside of their home.
This space offers a variety of tools which are not able to be utilized with in home therapy.
My speciality is with young children and families however, I do have extensive experience working with preteens and teens as well and will work with these populations on a case by case basis. When working with young children, I believe in the importance of working with the caregivers, and considering the whole family system, to ensure greater success in reaching set goals. My style is eclectic and based off the needs of each individual client and their specific situational needs.
Children Ages 2-6
For children ages 2 and up, I specialize in play therapy as well as child-parent relational therapy. I find in person-home based therapy to be ideal for this age group however, when this is not possible, office visits are also effective in achieving your families goals. I have noticed that when working with children in this age group, they tend to be more comfortable in their natural vs an unfamiliar environment, which can help them accomplish their goals quicker. With this age group, parents or caregivers are always asked to be involved in the sessions so that they can help facilitate carryover. These sessions look different depending on clients needs and will be discussed during treatment planning at the initial intake.
Ages 6-Teen & Adults
Although some clients over the age of 6 may benefit from in person home based visits, I recognize this may be difficult due to this services being offered between 8am - 11am when they are likely in school. If this is something that you are interested in pursuing, please reach out and we can discuss various options
such as less frequent visits. In addition, other options include in person visit at my Danvers location or
Telehealth visits dependent on the clients age.
When working with adults, the typical topics I work on is parenting guidance and post partum work. I typically conduct adult sessions via telehealth and in person at my Danvers location.
